So yes, I have decided to undertake the INSANITY workout alongside my friend Grace, an incredibly intense 60 day cardio/calisthenics/plyometric regimen put together by Shaun T and meant to whip your body into shape. With the holiday season coming up, I’ve decided not to wait till the beginning of January to get into shape–instead, I’m going to roll right through the holidays while working out like a mad man and eating as much healthy food as I can. Wish me luck!
For more information on just what kind of madness I’ve signed up for, check out our Shaun T INSANITY page.
Day #1 INSANITY Fit Test
I have to admit that I was a strange blend of nervousness and confidence going into the Fit Test. I’d been anticipating starting Shaun T’s INSANITY for over a week, and finally the day was here. I’d heard so much about the workout that I was intimidated-would I be able to keep up? On the other hand, this was just the Fit Test, a mere thirty minutes that would probably involve warm up and cool down. How hard could it be? I’d just go as hard as I could, do my best, and cruise on through to the other side.
Or so I thought.
The Fit Test has a simple set up. Shaun T walks you through each exercise, and then has two backup friends do the actual test as he motivates you. Having those two backups is incredibly useful-it allows Shaun T to focus on you through the screen, and gives you a basis of comparison for yourself as each reveals how many reps they accomplished that round, and how that compared to the first time they did the test.
So you start off with a warm up. Easy enough. Jogging on the spot, and then you begin to quickly cycle through jumping jacks, high knees, side leaps and more. By the end of the warm up I was already short on breath and my brow was slick with sweat. Didn’t help that I was working out in my garage which has poor ventilation. Five minutes in, and I turned to look at Grace. Both of us were grinning nervously. What had we let ourselves in for?
One thing I immediately noticed was that both Grace and I had already transitioned out of feeling goofy and laughing at how up beat the whole setup was to suddenly getting our game faces on. This was clearly going to be a question of survival. So when Shaun T started the test and launched us into the switch kicks, there was no longer any time or energy to spare on feeling self conscious.
Switch Kicks. Rough, but not too bad. Then, a quick breather, and we were thrown into the Power Jacks. And that’s when it really hit me as to why INSANITY was going to be so rough. You don’t have enough time between workouts to re-equilibrate. Just as your breath is starting to struggle back under control, you’re thrown into the next workout. Power Jacks. And then Power Knees.
By the time we hit Globe Jumps (which are particularly brutal on a concrete floor) we were both slick with sweat. INSANITY promises to make you work out in a puddle of your own sweat, and by then I believed it. By the time I finished my last Globe Jump, I was gasping. Sweat wasn’t dripping off me, but I knew it was a matter of time.
That’s also about when I noticed how cleverly Shaun T had put these exercises together. You go from working out your legs to transitioning to your upper body to finally locking into your core, a smooth progression that feels natural and continues to gradually pick up the intensity until by the end of the Fit Test you’re on fire. But the benefit is that by the time you get to the tough upper body exercises like the Suicide Jumps you’re revved up, good to go, and you can fully launch yourself into them.
Push up Jacks weren’t so bad for me, but in a way that’s a deceptive benefit; the better you are at an exercise, the harder you can push yourself, and the more out of breath and beat you are by the end of that minute. By the time we settled into Low Plank Oblique I was a dripping sweat, fighting to keep my breath and all my muscles were burning. I powered through the Low Plank Obliques, losing steam as I got to the 50 second mark, and then with a sudden manic burst of energy busting out some final 10 in the last ten seconds before collapsing to my knees, forehead to the floor, eyes closed, inhaling air, gulping it down as if I had been drowning.
But man it felt good. Comparing my results to the male backup, I saw that I’d kept up. That I was in sufficiently good condition to do the INSANITY test, right on the cusp so that I would reap the most benefits. Light headed, legs trembling, I forced myself to not sit down and instead follow Shaun T through the cool down. Unbelievably, Grace was doing great, having fired up her system to the point where she was now ready for more. All those years of yoga were really paying off. Me? I was ready for a cold shower and to put my feet up.
Or I would have been if I wasn’t so excited about what we had just done, and what lay in store. Tomorrow is the first real INSANITY workout. I’ve still got that blend of nervousness and confidence, but a small voice is telling me that I can do this. That I can dig deeper, that I can push through. And while that voice doesn’t sound exactly like Shaun T, I’ve got a feeling that it’s his confidence and encouragement that’s going to play the deciding factor in this endeavour.
OK, I want to see a video!!! This does sound like insanity!!!!! Wow, what a workout!
I just got back from your Insanity Page. This is how I like to workout. Can you say, “Christmas Present”? I want this. Thanks for filling me in!
It’s brutal, Jody. I’m hanging in there, but it’s a finger-tips on the edge of a cliff kind of hanging in there. Rough! Check out a video over here.
Ha! Masochist! Though I totally hear you on loving the intensity level, especially as I begin to adjust to how demanding the INSANITY workout is. Or try to adjust. It’s still incredibly rough going!
[…] If you want to read my first experience with the INSANITY workout, here’s the link to my Fit Test post. […]
It sounds like we started around the same time, and I have to say, I’m thankful to ready your blog and find I’m not the only one who could barely do stairs for the first few days (and this is right after a round of P90X!!) Anyway, thanks for blogging. I have one too at http://tonyistryingtokillme.blogspot.com
It’s insane, but I LOVE it!!!!
Hang in there, Hillary! I’d say it gets better but rather you end up simply enjoying the challenge. I actually woke up at 6.45am this morning (unheard of for me) to do my Insanity Workout, and though I was a shambling, stumbling mess, I stuck with it, and nothing was sweeter than that cool down stretch at the end. I’m going to check your blog to see how you’re doing, and thanks for dropping by!

Okay, my background: though I’m not naturally athletic or gifted, I was on the tennis and the swimming/diving teams in HS and Jr College. Though I was the first/only girl to play on my high school’s water polo team, I made first string varsity. I also worked out 2-3x/day religiously – my role models were Corrina Everson and Bev Francis .. just about the top/only female body builders at the time. Then one day while working the pro shop at my local fitness club, a 4-year old girl asked, ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’ I was devastated and quit my workouts cold turkey the next day. (I know .. stupid.) Flash foward 23 years. I’m now 42, a mother of 2 teen girly-girls, and 55lbs (!) heavier.
Last Sept, a local firefighter took my BP during a work health fair. Though I made continual excuses for my lack of fitness and weight gain (work, family, school, no time, no money, etc), I’ll never forget the look on her face when she read what was my highest BP reading ever: 145 over 94. Yikes! That was all it took. The next day, I signed up for a fitness boot camp 3x/wk before work and though it about literally killed me (I didn’t read the fine print that the camp was moderate to high intensity when I signed up), I continued through Dec.
I recently saw a TV ad for the Insanity workout. Thinking about the $ it would save me vs a monthly boot camp fee, I purchased it. I’m going into my 2nd week of the program and I have to say, I’m SO glad I had a 4-month prep time with my boot camp. This workout is pretty dang intense, especially when you combine workouts. That said, I’m still 40lbs from my goal weight. Bottom line: it kicks your butt, but you need it too. I plan on continuing this, incorporating my weekly runs and weight training, so that I will be one hot mamma come my 25 year HS reunion this summer! 🙂
Good luck, Celeste! It sounds like you are blending the perfect amount of determination with realism, and that’s why I think you’re going to make it all the way to the end. Just be sure to stretch lots and lots, sleep as much as you can, and enjoy the journey! Keep us updated as to how it goes, we’re all rooting for you here at EFR!
The calendar starts with Monday so I decided I’d start getting together the items in the nutrition reccomendations, preparing a little healthier meals, maybe do some sit-ups, push-ups, walk a little .. get myself pumped for this work-out. I received the DVD’s in the beginning of the week. By the end of the week I was eating healthier but I just couldn’t put it off until Monday. I thought okay, I’ll at least see what it’s about, maybe take the fit test and not record the results until I get started on monday. I’m here to tell you .. when you get the DVDs, open them and get an idea what you’re getting yourself into right away because there is NOTHING that can prepare you for this! Even after some light prep over the past week, I was still nowhere near prepared for the intensity of the fit test, let alone moving forward. There is no question but what you feel the burn just a few minutes into the workout. And not just a little bit .. through your whole body! I would already reccomend this to anyone who is considering doing it.
Since it is so tough .. here is my plan .. Even though my muscles got pretty worked over, it wasnt really muscle exhaustion that worried me, my respiratory system became exahusted quickly and I had to break a little longer between excercises that the video allows for. This is exactly the kind of workout that can help your cardiorespiratory fitness. Just be sure and not overwork yourself, take whatever time you need for a breather. I made it through the fit test, but I’m going to try and work through it a few more times so I can become familiar with the exersises before moving on to the week 1 dvd.
Make no mistake, this workout is hard but from what I’ve seen so far, Sean coaches you through every aspect of it. He shows you what to do, how to do it, reminds you to continue to breathe and instructs you how to do it properly. The exersises work muscle groups systematically so you don’t continue to suffer from any one exhausted area while trying to work another.
Bottom line: After my first fit test, it’s a lot harder than i expected But if you follow the instructions, try to eat right and stay properly fueled according to the nutrition guidelines, and take whatever time you need to recover at first .. most importantly stick with it, I think anyone can make it to a firmer more defined body in 60 days. After feeling the burn already there is no question in my mind that is what will happen if I stick with it. I am just going to try and stay fueled and take the necessary time i need to recover and stay breathing right, and as I work through it I can pretty much guarantee improvement in respiratory recovery time and I expect within the first couple weeks to be able to work through the workout with the shorter recovery times on the dvds.
Josh, it sounds like you are approaching this program with the right amount of enthusiasm and caution! INSANITY is truly a challenging program, but if you are smart about it, honest with yourself as to what your own fitness level is, you’ll do great. Remember, Shawn T always tells you to take as much of a break as you need–often he’ll even tell the test group with him to stop, so don’t worry about the recovery time. As you said, you’ll soon be getting into better shape, and will naturally begin to improve. Just be sure to get lots of sleep, and eat well, and the rest will take care of itself. Please check back in and let us know how you do–we’re all rooting for your success!!
I just performed the Fit Test last night . . . and it was HARD! I felt like I did a full-on workout. I am now a bit scared moving forward on the program, but will definitely be doing it.
I too am doing Insanity!! Glad to have bloggers to bond with through this journey. Im on Day 9 and have to go do my workout shortly (Cardio Circuit). I really wanted to push myself and get back in shape. I had my son in October and gained 40 lbs. I have another 20-25 to go. Since I started working out again, post pregnancy, I have already lost several inches on the waist. This program really targets your core and without you realizing it (which is the best!). WIth all the bending over and doing planks- you really begin to see your torso change. This also targets your thighs…and this you DO feel. I bike all summer and have always been active…but these workouts KILL your legs! … ha ha (in a good way). I am back on a low-carb diet again but tend to have some chocolate here and there. I know if I want to really drop the pounds…I do have to really kick up the discipline in that area and increase the cardio. You DO sweat with this program….but I’m curious if I’ll get even better results by doing some biking or jogging, in addition, to the Insanity videos. We’ll see. I’ll stop back in and give some updates 🙂
Atatum: The best way to find out if you’re ready for the INSANITY workout is to go through the fit test. If you’re able to get comparable numbers to the examples given there, then you’re ready to go! If however you’re unable to finish the test, or are in really bad shape by the end of it, then maybe you should look at a lower intensity program first, like the Power 90 workout that is for more intermediate folk… either way, get healthy, get active, and get in control of your life again!
Keep it up, Tigerlilyfly! It sounds like you’re right in thick of it, and yes, these workouts will do a number on your legs. By the end of the workouts mine felt like boiled pasta 😉
Let us know how it goes–be interesting to hear your thoughts as you progress!
atatum- I agree with Phil. I would maybe start with another program and work up to this one. I have Chalene’s Turbo Jam series from Beach Body too…and they are great! There’s a video for abs, cardio, & one for weights/band strength too. Her videos are great because, like Shaun-T, they switch up the moves after every couple minutes so you dont get bored and you dont die on each set. I have done so many videos and I love Turbo Jam and now I’m digging Insanity!
I’m almost done with my second week and will do the 2-week Fit test on Tuesday. Already I am noticing the changes. I remember the first time I did sets of push-ups ( ha ha ) …or I “tried” a few push ups! Now 11 or 12 days in, I am doing bunches at a time!! It’s awesome. I have been counting here and there some of my reps per minute of things like the suicides have increased a lot! You DO have to dig deeper!! I’m still falling down and having my legs give out on me by the end of the videos…and the sweat is just dripping down my face, but it’s all worth every second! I have already lost 3-4 inches around my waist and 1 inch on each thigh! It’s great!!!!!
atatum…no matter what you choose- you stick with it and push, push, push! 🙂 Good luck!!
Tigerlilyfly–glad to hear you’re still burning a savage trail through INSANITY! As Shaun T always says: dig deeper! Keep up the excellent work, and you’ll see that the results you’ve already gotten are only going to get better!
Also, out of curiosity’s sake: how are your joints feeling?
Ooooo….good question and funny you ask now because I went to bed and told my husband that my knees felt shot. It felt like all the tendons around my knees tightened up. I loosened up today without taking anything (meds/anti-inflam’s)…but Im still sore. Last night was my first night of Cardio abs and the C-sit position really hurts my lower back. I go to a chiropractor as is due to injuring my back years ago, so Im not pushing that too much right now. But yeah, joints hurt 🙂
My advice is to be very careful with your joints. They take a pounding throughout INSANITY, which is very high impact. So be sure to workout on a yoga mat (check out our equipment page on the main site if you don’t have one or don’t know where to buy one), and also consider taking a joint support supplement which will supplement your glucosamine and collagen levels. It’s what helped me get through INSANITY, because I was really starting to feel my joints as well by the end of my second week. I’ve got flat feet, so my ankles were taking the brunt of it, but knees were also starting to crack and pop a lot.
I actually think that joint strength and flexibility are one of the biggest indicators of whether people will be able to finish INSANITY. It’s just that high impact, and people throw themselves into it without the right kind of conditioning and as a result, get hurt. I did exactly that myself! Either way, be smart, take care of yourself, and make sure you’re not in pain so that you can go all the way with INSANITY!
Phil-
Gues we’re a like 🙂 I too have extremely flat feet…and Ohhhhh my feel hurt so bad sometimes. I have been doing the workout on a thick carpet (some days anyway) and my arches, as well as my calves, KILL!!! Good advice about the suppliments and I will look into taking them. Good news!!!!…..I did my 2nd fit test and have to boast that my push up jacks went from 8 to 19! For someone that had no upper body strength…I’m loving it!!! 🙂
Ooops – I meant “alike” (hate spelling things wrong!!)
Have a good one~~
Tigerlilyfly–8 to 19? That’s a crazy improvement! Congratulations, that’s seriously awesome! And yes too all the flat feet comments you made–I often had to stop, not because I was out of breath or energy, but because I had to stretch out my arches and let the ache die away. Very frustrating!
Good luck, and keep up the excellent work!
I just did the first fit test this morning. Wow. I was an athlete through school and college but have lapsed over the last 10 years due to family, job, etc. I needed a change but hate the gym experience. After researching I came up with the P90x and Insanity. I got purchased both. My wife is starting the P90x, and Im doing the Insanity. However, after doing the fit Test today, Im thinking maybe I should continue the fit test for a week or two just to ease into it a bit and get a little background fitness? I cycle 70 miles + on the weekends but do little to nothing during the week. Im afraid I need to come into the program with at least a baseline of fitness first. I figure two weeks of fit tests for 30 minutes a day can help with that. Suggestions would be helpful. Im 6 feet 198 and need to am looking to get fit and hopefully drop 10-15 pounds in the process. Thanks
Garry,
Doing the fit test for two weeks straight is a novel approach. I normally counsel trying another intro program first to help ease you into the intensity level, such as Power 90 or RevAbs, but if you think two weeks of fit tests will do the trick having done the first, good luck and let me know how it goes!
I did my first fit test today, and I admit that I did sacrifice form at times, but I vow to never again. I averaged my numbers to those I thought were solid enough to count (finishing a sucide jump without both feet off the ground did not count).
My numbers on March 6th, first fit test (22 years old, 133 lbs, 5’1) are:
Switch Kicks: 31
Power Jacks: 50
Power Knees: 83
Power Jumps: 25
…I’m collapsing now…
Globe Jumps: 5
Suicide Jumps: 11
Push-up Jacks: 17
Low Plank Obligue: 41
I believe the body is stronger than we give credit, and therefore push myself to the limit.
BIG QUESTION! Does anyone have any thoughts/substitutions for the Results and Recover Drink?
The R and R Formula specifies that the purpose is to (1) replenish glycogen/sugar (2) work quickly to restore blood sugar levels after a workout (3) four parts carbs to one part protein, with very little to no fat. The nutri info for this drink is as follows:
Calories 220 Calories from Fat 10
————————————–…
% Daily Value *
Total Fat 2g 3%
Saturated Fat 0.5g 2%
Cholesterol 30mg 10%
Sodium 150mg 6%
Potassium 147mg 4%
Total Carbohydrate 39g 13%
Dietary Fiber 0g 0%
Sugars 38g
Protein 10g 20%
8 oz. of 2% and 3 tbsp. of ovaltine has:

Am I getting the same out of the chocolate milk as far as the purpose of the after workout drink?
Hey Zoe–congrats on your first fit test! You got very respectable results, and I love your no-compromise attitude. Excellent numbers on your results–you’re coming in strong, and I can’t wait to hear about your second Fit Test results 😉
As for the R&R drink–in the end what matters is that you get something good into your system after the workout. The R&R drink is an excellent place to start, but there’s no harm in doing your own research and coming up with whatever substitute works best for you. Check back in and let us know how you’re doing!
I just finished my Fit Test today. I was so glad to read Zoe’s results. I did about the same! I usually run/walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes about 4 times a week. This was CRAZY today. I felt defeated and so out of shape. My main problem was feeling so out of breath. It was refreshing to see Zoe’s results and know that others are on the same page as me. I’m a little scared to do the Plyo Circuit tomorrow. I previewed the DVD yesterday. I do not have much upper body strength. I’m 5′ 7” around 145 pounds. My plan is to do the moves right slowly and build speed through the program. I’m determined to finish and I’m excited for the next 59 days! : )
Insane Teacher: do not lose heart. Insanity is supposed to be tough, it’s supposed to be brutal in the beginning. What’s incredible about this program is how your body will respond over the next few weeks, and the improvements you’ll notice. Congrats on your first day, and remember: take it day by day, 1 step at a time, and before you know it you’ll be there. Keep coming back and letting us know how it goes–I really want to hear about your success!
Hello Phil,
Well I have made it to week 5 and I will be doing my first Cardio Core Balance workout. I’m so proud of my accomplishments during Month 1. I never was able to do every move perfect or as fast as Shaun, but I did complete them all and pushed really hard. I feel/see a definite improvement in my cardio and muscular strength. Once again I’m nervous to begin a new adventure as I move into Month 2. I read some reviews and they are very descriptive of how challenging they are. I’m ready to accept the challenge!
One thing I am having trouble with is doing all of the push up movements. My shoulders and chest definitely burn out quickly. When I feel burnt out, I switch to the “female pushup” versions. Is this ok to do? I’m not sure how to complete some of the moves when I physically cannot hold my position any longer. Any advice would be appreciated! 🙂
Thank you for your words of encouragement! They meant a lot to me at the beginning!
Hi Christi,
Congrats on finishing month one! That is a HUGE accomplishment, and you have every reason in the world to be proud. Seriously–few people get as far as you have, and I can sense your continuing motivation and desire to finish this workout and take it all the way. Keep it up! I know month 2 is going to really challenge you, but it’s that ever rising slope of difficulty that will keep getting you the incredible results you’re already feeling, so focus, and go!
As for the pushups–don’t get down on yourself. The important thing for you to do is to simply give every workout your best shot. If you have to do some half pushups to finish the workout, then that’s what you have to do, and that’s more than ok–that’s awesome. The fact that you’re hanging in there and doing whatever it takes to keep up with Shaun is what counts. Over time, you’ll build up that upper body strength, and naturally progress to the next level. So be patient with yourself, proud that you’ve got the inner determination to keep going, and let me know how month 2 goes, ok?
Best of luck!
Fit test OMG
Little back ground I am a mother of three and 30 pounds over weight.. I have tired everything to lose it with no luck. I heard about it this workout from a person at the gym and started it today. I had the hardest time I can’t wait till tomorrow……………..
Kristina,
How did you do on your Fit Test? Care to share your numbers? *grin* I’ll understand if you don’t, but I’m curious!
I have just read all the blogs – I am feeling overly excited and very nervous!!! I was a 4 year college athlete in 2 sports – I have been in working-out up until about 1 year ago after the birth of my first child. Although I worked out all through my pregnancy 45min cardio daily with weights, all that has seemed to fizzel away!! I have been reading a lot about Insanity and I really appreciate what the workout is all about. I am 27years old 5’8″ – 135lbs – and I am – not “OUT” of shape but by no means am I “IN” shape. I probably weight the least that I have really ever weighed in my adult life because of my diet however, I have only been doing minimal cario but nothing like I was doing even when pregnant. I am nervous / and scared to start this workout. I feel like I can sustain a lot, but by no means do I want to set myself up for failure. My question is to anyone out there, Do you think I will be okay to start this work-out with out having really worked out much prior to? Thanks in advance and I look forward to blogging about “Insanity” in the near future.
Erin,
Insanity is a serious workout. It’s only 2 months, but you have to commit to 6 days/week, and be ready to bring it each and every time. Can you do the workout? Of course. That’s because you can push as hard as you’re able, but if you’re wise and listen to your body, you won’t go too hard and far and hurt yourself. Could you start with a more introductory workout such as Turbo Jam or Brazil Butt Lift? That also makes sense, as it would be a slightly gentler but still challenging way to start getting back in shape.
In the end, the only question you have to ask yourself is this: how hard do you want to push yourself? How big a challenge do you want to take on? If you want the hardest, most extreme trial that will get you the quickest, most extreme results, then go for Insanity, though be warned that it will be a grueling experience. If you want to ease into it, then try another, less intense workout. There is no wrong answer! All you can do is determine how hard you want to push yourself, and go from there.
Let me know if you have any other questions, ok? Good luck!
Phil,
I am in my second week of insanity and i am LOVING it! I keep up fairly well and don’t have to break often, but when i do have to break it is usually to shake my feet out. My arches start hurting and burning so bad that it makes me stop. I played college volleyball and have really strong legs so i dont’ think it is my calves but maybe it could be. I think i might need to get different shoes? Do you have any suggestions on what type of shoe to get or suggestions about what the problem with my feet could be? I have pretty high arches so maybe that is it. Little help? Thanks!
Heather,
Keep up the good work. You definitely want to be using cross trainers, so look for those specifically. As for the problem with high arches–that could be it? Unfortunately I’m not 100% sure. I know that flat feet require arch support, but don’t know what the opposite version would be. Try out a good pair of shoes, be sure to workout on a yoga mat, and hopefully that will help.
Best of luck!
I am on my third week of Insanity and I love it. There are days that I want to skip but I am only cheating myself so I push myself off the couch and get it going. My background: played high school and college football (one year) then I joined the Navy. Ten years of the Navy smoked the whole time got out got married (again) stopped smoking and ballooned up. I seen the Infomercial and decided to get off my butt and loose the weight. I am no spring chicken and I have had 3 knee sugeries (all on my left knee). My first fit test I thought I was going to pass out but I pushed through it. Day by Day I felt myself improving and that is my drive. Even though I can shed LOTS of pounds the scale has not changed BUT I have more wind and my clothes fit better. Phil I understand this is an intense program but you dont have to be an athelete to do it just atheletic. Just my opinion. Cheers!
Cliff,
Love your dedication, iron will and desire to succeed. You’re totally right–anybody who takes care of their body, is wise about how hard they push themselves and really wants change can succeed on the Insanity Workout. The only reason I preach caution is because many people push themselves too hard too soon and hurt themselves, resulting in burn out and bitterness. Best to go slow and steady than sprint for a week and stop altogether. However, you’re a testament to what a dedicated person can do, and I really hope you continue to get off that couch and kick ass. Let us know how things progress, how your fit tests improve, and keep in touch!
My husband and I are on day 2, last night’s fit test was awesome! A few times we had to pause it because he felt like he was going to pass out and/or get sick. I was just reeling in the intensity and annoyed him slightly by my cheerleader antics “Come on, you have to at least try.” when he was ready to give up.
I love what I have seen of your blog, but forgive me for my blindness, can’t see a link to the entire thing so I can bookmark it and read along each day to keep me going. Can you help me out?
Thanks alot!
Jillian
I am about to start my last 4 weeks of insanity…the hardest part. I have LOVED it so far! I am a personal trainer, and this definitely tested my limits! I am faster than I have ever been in my life! Another trainer and I took Insanity, shortened it, modified it to fit our gym members, and have been teaching a form of it in the gym! It has really opened my eyes to our bodies’ capabilities! Good luck toeveryone just getting started! PUSH through! It is worth all the sweat!
Hi All!! I started Insanity on June 21st so I am about to finish up my first week tomorrow! I had a very tough time this morning with Pure Cardio, but the biggest problem is not my breath or my muscles – it’s my FEET. They hurt so badly when I’m doing the workouts (Heisman mostly and others) that I have to stop. It’s so frustrating and discouraging b/c I want to go through with this so much and get good results. I am 5’4”, 136lbs and would love to drop some lbs. Any suggestions on helping my poor feet? Thanks! 🙂 Keep going!!
I did mine last night. Meant to bring my #’s with me so that I could enter them here just for fun but oh well … my experience was awesome. I did pretty good actually. Comparing my results to the 2 in the video. Towards the end, the last 2 exercises it got pretty tough for me tho. I was in the garage and didn’t have a heavy duty fan. It was already pretty hot and then heating up with the fit test … not a great combination for sure.
But some of the things I noticed that were more than awesome. The fact that I could feel my core about 1/2 after the test. I could totally tell that it had been engaged and worked. That’s going to show some very good results after a few weeks in and of course by the end of the 60 days. Can’t wait!
Today now, mid day, I’m feeling it especially in my inner thighs. I can also feel it other places but thats the one area that I’m noticing the most for the moment.
I’ll be back to read about y’all and update you on my progress too.
I just did the fit test and felt like throwing up. I am about 10 lbs overweight from lack of exercise due to the lack of time and amount of studying I do. I used to workout everyday and some how let school take over. I thought doing this would whip me in shape and shade those “freshman 15”. All I can say is wow. I was light headed and dripping sweat but the end and the real exercises havent even began. Im glad to see Im not alone. Wish me luck and I wonder how fast Shaun get help me melt these extra pounds.
