P90X2 has just been launched, and already everybody is asking: how exactly is it different from P90X, and should I dive right in? A good answer lies in the Calendar which features three different Phases, yet no longer locks you into how long you should remain in each. Instead, you now determine yourself when you are ready to graduate from one Phase to the next, allowing you to not only listen to your body but allow it to dictate how fast and ready it is to grow and take on the next challenge.

How does this work?

Simple. The first Phase is called Foundation, and should be undertaken from anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks, followed by Strength which should be done for a similar 3 to 6 weeks. Once you feel that you are ready, you are encouraged to jump into Performance where you refine and tailor your athletic potential to the maximum, though you should only do it for 3 to 4 weeks. Further, you are encouraged to throw in your own Recovery Week whenever you think it necessary, allowing you to recover if you’ve been pushing yourself way beyond your limits. P90X2—the ultimate in tailored flexibility!
